(ABSTRACT)

The main aim of this project is to decrease time for the calculation of the bill of the products without checking manually each and every product and finding amount of the total products purchased by using the RFID technology.
Here each and every product has given certain RFID tag and the RFID reader is placed on the cart. When ever the person the places the product in the cart the RFID reader in the cart reads the RFID number given to that particular product and calculates the amount and displays on the LCD connected to micro controller on the cart including the name of the cost of the product and total amount of the product. After completion of shopping the billing will given to the person by pressing the switch connected to the microcontroller it will gives the bill.
At the billing the RS-232 connected to the micro controller at cart and RS-232 connected to micro controller at PC both connected by using cable to get data from the micro controller at the cart. Then all the details of the product can be viewed on the PC connected to it including the date of manufacture and date of expiry of the product. After transmission and completion of all about the details of the products the microcontroller updates the original data of the products present in the database and displays the updated data on the PC.

TOOLS: Keil, Flashmagic.
TARGET DEVICE: 8051 microcontroller.
APPLICATIONS: Used in shopping malls.
