HIGHWAY SPEED MEASURING SYSTEM

HIGHWAY SPEED MEASURING SYSTEM

Aim: The main aim of this project is to record and display if the speed limit is crossed on a highway.

Block Diagram:

DESCRIPTION:

In this project we are going to record speed of a car. One technique for measuring the speed of a car uses two sensors embedded under the road. When the car is over a sensor, the sensor output a is 1; otherwise output is 0.A sensor’s output travels on underground wires to a speed measuring computer box, some of which are above the ground and others of which are underground .The speed measurer determines speed by dividing the distance between the sensors by the time required for a vehicle to travel from the first sensor to the second sensor.
This design is implemented using a VHDL language, by developing a state-machine for the controller.

REQUIRED SKILL SET:

  • Knowledge on Digital design.
  • Knowledge on VHDL programming.
